Artist Statement
_
Parker Logan Dennison is multi-disciplinary artist whose intuitive approach towards creating site-based performance and installation aim to confront false dualities and transform awareness towards a prevailing unity. The quasi-ritualistic events that he creates explore choice, chance, collective relationships, and the celebration of mystical form.
Currently he is hosting intimate meetings for small group gatherings. Participants are invited to transcend common experience and explore a place that is unusual and set aside, possibly first hand or by being invited by a previous participant to find a chance to choose engagement. The individuals who make it all the way through the distillation of chance and choice enjoy tea with the artist who then offers a bell as a gift to ring aloud and explore their sonic relationship to the space they traverse. Individuals are encouraged to then pass the gift along to entice the next individual to seek out the mysterious tea meeting.
Dennison received his Bachelors of Art in Sculpture at Asbury University in his home state of Kentucky, and is currently a graduate student in the Inter-media program at the Herberger Institute for Design and Art. He has exhibited at Asbury University, InLight Richmond, The Icehouse Phoenix, and has held solo performances at Arizona State University.
